Day 23: Confession
Word:
Another gift that peer-to-peer discipleship relationships bring into our lives is space for confession and repentance so that we might find healing. These relationships create intentional opportunities for consistent confession of sin, repentance, and prayer for healing.
Scriptures For Today:
As you read today's Scriptures, read slowly and attentively, allowing the Holy Spirit to speak to you as you meditate on His Word.
James 5.16 Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed.
Proverbs 28.13 Whoever conceals their sins does not prosper, but the one who confesses and renounces them finds mercy.
1 John 1.9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.
Proverbs 16.24 Gracious words are a honeycomb, sweet to the soul and healing to the bones.
Acts 19.17-20 When this became known to the Jews and Greeks living in Ephesus, they were all seized with fear, and the name of the Lord Jesus was held in high honor. Many of those who believed now came and openly confessed what they had done. A number who had practiced sorcery brought their scrolls together and burned them publicly. When they calculated the value of the scrolls, the total came to fifty thousand drachmas. In this way the word of the Lord spread widely and grew in power.
Worship:
Prayer:
Jesus, thank you for the gift of peer discipleship relationships where I can confess sin, repent and receive prayer for healing!
Listen & Obey:
Spend two minutes in silent, listening prayer. Write down what you sense the Holy Spirit speaking to you.
Here are some prompts to assist you:
Lord, what do You want to speak to me from these passages of Scripture as I start my day?
How do You want me to apply this truth today?
Who do I need to share this with today?
