Day 16: Remember the Days of Old

Word:

This week we are looking at how God works through relationships in our discipleship to Jesus. Yesterday focused on the investment of spiritual mothers and fathers in our lives. One way the Lord uses spiritual mothers and fathers to help us grow as disciples is through the sharing of testimonies.

As we hear the testimonies of how God has worked in their lives, our faith is strengthened. As you read the Scriptures today, let them stir you to reflect on, or perhaps seek to learn more of the testimonies of those who have invested or are investing in you.

Scriptures For Today:

As you read today's Scriptures, read slowly and attentively, allowing the Holy Spirit to speak to you as you meditate on His Word.

Deuteronomy 4.9 Only be careful, and watch yourselves closely so that you do not forget the things your eyes have seen or let them fade from your heart as long as you live. Teach them to your children and to their children after them.

Deuteronomy 32.3-4,7 I will proclaim the name of the Lord. Oh, praise the greatness of our God! He is the Rock, his works are perfect, and all his ways are just. A faithful God who does no wrong, upright and just is he…Remember the days of old; consider the generations long past. Ask your father and he will tell you, your elders, and they will explain to you.

Hebrews 13.7-8 Remember your leaders, who spoke the word of God to you. Consider the outcome of their way of life and imitate their faith. Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.

Worship:

Prayer:

Jesus, thank You for the testimonies of Your faithfulness that extend through the generations, and that I can draw strength from today for You are the same yesterday, today and forever!

Listen & Obey:

Spend two minutes in silent, listening prayer. Write down what you sense the Holy Spirit speaking to you.

Here are some prompts to assist you:

Lord, what do You want to speak to me from these passages of Scripture as I start my day?

How do You want me to apply this truth today?

Who do I need to share this with today?
