Day 21: The Power of Peers
Word:
In addition to the ways God uses spiritual mothers and fathers in our discipleship to Jesus, He also uses peer-to-peer discipleship relationships to strengthen and grow our walk with Him. Today’s Scriptures point out some of the power of these types of relationships. As you reflect on them, reflect on who are who are your peer discipleship partners at present and how can those relationships be strengthened in this season.
Scriptures For Today:
As you read today's Scriptures, read slowly and attentively, allowing the Holy Spirit to speak to you as you meditate on His Word.
Ecclesiastes 4.9-10 Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor: If either of them falls down, one can help the other up.
Proverbs 27.17 As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.
Luke 10.1 After this the Lord appointed seventy-two others and sent them on ahead of him, two by two, into every town and place where he himself was about to go.
Proverbs 13.20 Walk with the wise and become wise, for a companion of fools suffers harm.
Proverbs 27.9 Oil and perfume make the heart glad, and the sweetness of a friend comes from his earnest counsel.
Worship:
Prayer:
Jesus, thank You for the way You work through peer to peer discipleship relationships to help me grow in You! Would You speak to me today about who are You calling me to walk with like this in this season of my life?
Listen & Obey:
Spend two minutes in silent, listening prayer. Write down what you sense the Holy Spirit speaking to you.
Here are some prompts to assist you:
Lord, what do You want to speak to me from these passages of Scripture as I start my day?
How do You want me to apply this truth today?
Who do I need to share this with today?
