40 Days of Discipleship

Day 20: Rebuke
Proverbs 29.17 Discipline your son, and he will give you rest; he will give delight to your heart.

Day 21: The Power of Peers
Ecclesiastes 4.9-10 Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor: If either of them falls down, one can help the other up.

Day 22: Encouragement
Hebrews 10.23-25 Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful. And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.

Day 23: Confession
James 5.16 Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed.

Day 24: Challenge
Colossians 3:16 - Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts.

Day 25: Partnership
Luke 10:1 - After this the Lord appointed seventy-two others and sent them two by two ahead of him to every town and place where he was about to go.

Day 26: Go Make Disciples
Matthew 28.16-20 Then the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go. When they saw him, they worshiped him; but some doubted. Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

Day 27: Who to Look for in Discipleship?
John 1.37-39 The two disciples heard him say this, and they followed Jesus. Jesus turned and saw them following and said to them, “What are you seeking?” And they said to him, “Rabbi” (which means Teacher), “where are you staying?” He said to them, “Come and you will see.”

Day 28: Hungry & Humble
Luke 5.27 After this he went out and saw a tax collector named Levi, sitting at the tax booth. And he said to him, “Follow me.” And leaving everything, he rose and followed him.
